11253.107.10 - Reconnection

Alleria had mentioned before that she didn't have anymore friends or family after her self-exile from Earth upon learning she was Lunameba. So I was very surprised to see a beam transmission addressed to her after we passed a messenger dispatcher. 

Alleria seemed very surprised and confused to receive a message and I gave her privacy on the bridge to view the message. She was in tears when she stepped out into the gangway and I immediately asked her if everything was ok. She smiled and said that the message was from her father and that he apologized and said that he misses her and wants reestablish communication with her. 

This was the first time I have seen Alleria truly happy. She cooked one of her favorite childhood meals for the crew tonight. Mo couldn't eat it of course, but they were happy to be there to celebrate their friend.

11253.107.9 - Natural Sounds of a Starship

Today was very quiet as we burned towards our new objective. It was a nice change of pace compared to loud hustle and bustle of Progress City. Sure there is the hum of the starlight engines, rattles of air and water filtration systems, and the high-pitch, yet faint sounds of the computer systems, but it is generally quiet. Even in the wilds back on Earth, silence is not found as nature finds a way to heard, even on the darkest night.

11253.107.8 - Got Paid

Another successful day in Starbloom's lab today. After just feeling out the lab yesterday, we really fell into a good routine today and were able to collect enough data to complete the mission. Alleria brought the samples back to Helion Core Works and they immediately sent payment and a thank you for a job well done. 

I was able to immediately pick up another research mission afterwards. Apparently Progress always has a demand for data collection and research so this would make a good planet to return to if we are looking for work. This next mission involves a bit of botany which has me excited because that is my expertise.
